The popular KBS 2TV variety-drama Producer has achieved an 18.6% viewer rate, which is its highest rating thus far.
Previously, the drama gained attention when it achieved ratings of 11% in the areas of Seoul and Busan. According to Nielsen Korea, the 8th episode titled “Understanding Love-Line,” achieved 13.4% in national ratings, continuing its rising popularity. In particular, Gong Hyo Jin (PD Tak Ye Jin) and IU (Cindy)’s one minute phone call scene is what allowed the drama to reach its highest ratings yet, coming in at 18.6%. Although mostly revolving around work drama and the producers’ shows, this episode was the first time for KBS to deeply showcase behind-the-scenes stories of the producers’ personal and office lives. Despite its relatively rough start with the change in director after the third episode and mixed reactions from the viewers, Producer has definitely caught the hearts of many viewers.
Stars that have made cameos in the drama include 2NE1‘s Dara, WINNER‘s Seungyoon, Kim Ji Soo, Lee Seung Gi, J.Y. Park, and more. In the upcoming episodes, Go Ara will be interacting with IU’s character, Cindy.
