악기와 작곡

악기를 연주할 줄 몰라도 작곡은 할 수 있다. 특히 2000년대에 들어서면서 연주인(Track makers)들이 만들어놓은 반주 위에 멜로디와 가사를 덧붙이는 작업 형식이 주류를 이루면서 악기나 음악이론을 몰라도 누구나 센스만 있으면 작곡이 가능하게 되었다.
그러나 이런 작곡 방식은 연주인들이 만들어놓은 반주의 틀 안에서 곡을 써야하므로 표현의 한계가 있다.

자기가 어설프게라도 악기를 하나 다루게 되거나 혹은, 더 나아가 화성악 등의 이론까지 쌓아 가이드 반주라도 만들 수 있게 된다면 작곡의 폭과 깊이는 넓어질 수 밖에 없다.

원더걸스가 땀 흘려 악기를 배우게 된 목적은 단순히 무대 위에서 보여주기 위해서가 아니라 자신들의 음악과 색깔을 규정 지을 수 있는 힘을 키우기 위해서이다.

이번 앨범 타이틀 곡을 제외한 전곡의 작곡에 멤버들이 주도적으로 참여했는데 악기를 연주할 줄 모를 때에 비해 그 수준이 놀랍게 향상되었다. 정말 자랑스러운 앨범이고 자랑스러운 가수들이다.

Instruments and composing

You can compose a song even if you can't play any instruments especially after 2000's when writing melodies and lyrics on a pre-made track became a popular form of making music.

But it limits your creativity since you're writing to a track you didn't make. So learning an instrument and basic music theory enables you to create your own track which means there's absolutely no limit to your creativity.

That's why the Wondergirls learned there instruments not only to perform on stage but to create there own musical color and it clearly shows on this album.
