Instagram is about bringing you closer to the people you know and love. Today we’re adding two new exciting ways to share your life with others on Instagram: live video and ephemeral photo sharing. First, we’re adding live video to stories. It’s a way to broadcast to your life to friends and followers in real-time with zero pressure–the broadcast disappears after you’re finished. We’re starting to test this today, so you might not see it immediately but we’ll be rolling it out broadly soon. Next, in Direct, we’ve added ephemeral photo sharing. This lets you send spontaneous and casual moments to your friends. After they see them, they disappear. Both these features will make Stories and Direct more fun and useful for all the people using them. 300 million people already use Direct every month, and over 100 million use Stories every day!
