Toshi update: Toshi is doing great!! He's been living in rural northern Nevada with my aunt for the past few years. Apparently, he's a great bed warmer! If you're wondering how he ended up there: years ago, due to living situation changes and my tour/travel obligations, Richard and Toshi had to move in with my parents' cat/dog clan for a while. Toshi started to develop anxiety around the new dogs and cats, withdrew from Richard, and was spraying on a daily basis. He avoided meal times and was losing weight. So we asked my aunt to take him in. Toshi now lives in a much calmer environment with one other cat (Miss Norma). He's stopped spraying and is eating normally :) He even gifted my aunt with a mouse he caught! Of course, separating Richard and Toshi broke my heart, but I believe we made good choices to reduce Toshi's stress, considering the circumstances. They're both healthy and VERY happy in their homes--and that's what's most important to me. ❤️
