I’ve been extra stoked on Taipan Wall this time around. Last week I managed to pull off the first ascent of the direct start to Serpentine!

Feels nice to complete something that’s been a project for most of my lifetime and it’s also something that I’ve messed around with over the years. I remember walking past it countless times with ‘Free beer’ written in chalk at the start and an arrow pointing up.

In true Taipan style this pitch packs it all from bouldery sequences to techy scoops and runouts. Happy to see Serpentine get a start from the ground as well. We’ll see about the grade - who understands Aussie grades, especially on Taipan!
