RIP @INTERVIEW Magazine “I’m not surprised that Interview Magazine has bit the big one. Sad yes, but 49 years is a long time and a lot of stuff has changed. The rulers that once took care of this beautiful social commentary have vanished. I think Warhol would have been surprised that it lasted this long and if alive today he probably would have lived upstate or in Detroit. Glenn O’Brien ( a member of Warhol's Factory, first editor of Interview from 1971 to 1974) turned into a beautiful black bear running wild in the woods of Connecticut (before passing in 2017). Ingrid is probably laughing while bitching at all the political mayhem from high above.
I have lost track of Interview through the last few years but I did love it and what it stood for.
I can’t think that something so interesting could have survived these puritanical, rigid, fucked times. Interview was wild, sexy, mesmerizing, intellectual, street and raw- just like New York City was. It lived in the right time and place.

So thanks to everyone who had a part in its exsitence.
Maybe one day in the future some cool kid with a brilliant mind who wants to fuck shit up will bring it back (hopefully in paper) and do what Warhol and his gang did but even better. #InterviewMagazine ? Rest In Publication Peace until resurrection.” ™@mary_frey
