We just shut down an illeagally runned dog meat farm that we visited last April. Back then I was so heartbroken by the fact that we had no choice but to leave the poor pups in those horrendous cages - it haunted me everyday. But when I heard the news that the farmer finally agreed to close the farm, I was unbelievably happy.
I went to the farm on Friday, and that day we rescued many puppies from their cages and relocated them to Care shelters in Naecheon and Pocheon area.
Honestly, I had no idea how hard it was to take the dogs out of their cages, the place that they only knew as home their whole lives. Throughout their miserable lives, they acknowledged only death was waiting for them once they got out of their cages. So it was really upsetting for me to see all those huge dogs getting feared enormously when we opened their cages.- Seemed like a huge amount of skill & effort are required to take those dogs out of their cages into new kennels, because they were trying so hard resisting in fear. I was so impressed by Care activists risking themselves to save the dogs. They were so amazing!
The dogs were extra scared when they saw a noose or an animal handling glove. There's a big tree in front of the farm, and I heard that that was the spot for slaughtering dogs, using a noose to hang them on site.- The pup that I'm carrying here was not like any other dogs - jumped right out of the cage on its own with such joy. No more food waste to eat, and plenty of land to walk and run from now on - how exciting is that?
