Hey legends! Wanted to give you an update on how I’m doing. I am getting better and feeling more like myself everyday. Had my vet check up today and everything is looking bright. A lot of you have asked what what happened so I thought it would be good to share some more info and symptoms to look out for. I had crystals form in my urine and my urinary track was blocked. So I was having difficulty urinating until eventually I couldn’t go at all. It’s actually very common in male cats and especially more likely if they do not drink a lot of water and are also on a dry diet. I have switched to a special diet to help correct my ph levels in my urine to hopefully prevent it from happening again. I have to watch it closely as it can happen more than once. Some signs to look for 1. straining to urinate with only drops of urine coming out (humans could mistake this for constipation) 2. louder meowing or being more vocal than usual 3. Urinating outside of litter box and in odd spots 4. Vomiting and loss of appetite. Always make sure your cat is drinking water, and if they aren’t add some to their food and discuss diet with your vet. Appreciate all your love and support! Together we are strong ❤️✊
