A couple people in the past have told me to “clean Richard’s nose!” when they see the black specks on there. But his nose actually isn’t dirty — they’re freckles! And freckles don’t come off, haha. I asked the vet about this and she explained it really well: just like humans with red hair are more likely to get freckles, cats with red fur are more likely to have freckles!

chipsvalentine I had no idea about the red fur leading to more freckles, but now that I think about it, it is usually gingers you see with the mouth and nose freckles.
