They’re called moment frame columns and they’re what will support the building in the event of an earthquake so it felt especially impacting to adorn these structures which will ultimately save lives with artwork. As they’re so many of them I’ll post each individually. This is one of two columns on the second floor and there’s a narrative which ties all five of the columns together..... the two on this floor have multi-cultural, gender neutral faces inset on both sides representing the diversity of LPA’s employees in terms of background, experience, and skill sets creating an inclusive environment. The greyscale background is forming my interpretation of schematic renderings which is a continuation of the design on the first floor column and what will become the designs on the third floor. It will make sense with the future posts.... All five columns are painted to a height of 10ft.
