• “Porn: A Shift in Mindset” • @tedx_official @tedxuhasselt • Pornography’s prevalence in today’s society is obvious, with a large percentage of the world choosing to indulge in online free porn, a fact well documented by internet traffic statistics. Simultaneously, American culture, through various mediums of entertainment, has adopted and portrayed adult films as practically a part of daily life. If porn is becoming so much more mainstream, have perspectives about it changed? In my first-ever #TEDx talk, I touch upon some of the societal perceptions about pornography, the adult industry, its performers, and its viewers in this era of sexual saturation. •

The creation of porn for mass consumption itself degrades individuals, not the loss of sales, however what a brilliant sales strategy. Secondly, this day in age, to say online porn only has an effect on the female gender is another great strategy targeting men's wallets, by giving women a sense of financial entitlement when it comes to sex. Please, while I understand you have a more unique perspective on the industry than an average joe like me, and you have been objectified by men, it was entirely within your control to quit and go work for minimum wage at McDonald's if you so chose, but the $ drove you. If you want to do something as a "former" porn star, who still markets a line of adult products, and strips for $$$, please advocate for girls and women who didn't or don't have a choice when being forced into the sex industry for someone else's profit. I'm no better, and stand on no religious high ground, I only speak as a person who agrees with ending the exploitation of both men and women for 3rd party gains, but not with your summation free internet porn degrades women anymore than paid porn if you're choosing that lifestyle willingly. You're just not getting paid for what millions of people do each day, fuck.

@jennahaze Porn and art are not the same at all. Porn is about making money. A real artist makes art because they have to express something unique to their experience. Art is about expression, not making money. Show me a homeless pornstar, who makes porn just to express their sexuality regardless of getting paid. It just doesn't happen. Porn is about money first and that is its top priority. I graduated from art school and am homeless, because I have to do art. I don't have a choice, art is not focused on the bottom line. People choose to go into Porn, but real artists have no choice but to follow their inner drives.

I remember when you guys were doing the push about combating free porn a few years ago which is why I always went for dvds as opposed to online (granted that is my approach for mainstream movies too)

I still think there should be a Netflix style streaming website with an app for DTV boxes. I think that would be one of the best ways to combat the issue

The first thing you sold your body is now lecturing in front of people for cheerfulness, apologize to God, so you will be forgiven, people enjoy only

Hard to listen to someone and take them seriously when they are famous for ramming dicks in their ass.
