@nikonjp @nikonusa @nikoneurope Dear Nikon, I have recently moved over to your brand. I have a request to make of you. I get that most camera manufacturers these days prefer to limit certain features in certain models, however, to limit many of your current DSLR cameras flash sync speed to only 1/200sec, is very limiting to photographers. Yes you would probably recommend that I rather purchase a higher spec camera but unfortunately I and I'm sure many others cannot afford to and need time to build up our kit. If the shutter speed on your Nikon D5300 among others can go up to 1/4000sec, surely...the camera is capable of high speed flash sync with high speed flash sync capable speedlights?! Surely you can release a patch or firmware update that can enable this?! Many professionals find that the lower end cameras are just as capable of professional imagery and video as their higher level counterparts, these cameras are lighter as well. I just feel very disappointed that an essential feature like this is absent from such a leading brand. 1/200sec is really not even good enough for basic studio portraiture. Your old D70 is capable of going up to 1/500sec at least! I wondered why many of my portraits were always so blurry and now I can't do anything to improve that. Most people should be shooting portraits at much higher shutter speeds anyway if they want decent results. It now also severely limits the creative lighting that I was able to offer my clients in the past.
