aisenriggs @laurenz_renzom aside from the many plot inconsistencies it added for the original trilogy, the biggest plot issue would be that it pretty much undermines Vader's separation from the Emporer, because we see that he wanted to do the thing that he was too reluctant to do later with Luke before he even knew of Luke.
