I was given a chance to teach a series of classes for the course on cultural representations of women and I’ll be giving lectures on women in Victorian paintings soon.
Who are those women depicted on canvases? Who did they represent? What kind of social values and morals were imposed upon them? What about other women who never made their appearances in art?
I hope my lectures will help students to discover various ways to explore paintings and let the pictures narrate themselves and learn the paths the women followed more than a century ago are still relevant to us today. .

カンヴァスに描かれた女性たちをはじめ、彼女たちが表象するもの、カンヴァスには描かれてこなかった女性たち、当時のあらゆる女性に課せられた価値観や倫理観、現代を生きる私たちにも紐付く、物語を読み解いていきます📖
