I was gonna make this a story, but I feel like this is worthy of a post.
I haven’t thought of, or attempted a triple axel since January. I have been struggling with skates, fitness, confidence, fear, and a whole list of other things. Sometimes you just have to put one foot in front of the other. You have to take small steps and keep going. Sometimes, the vantage point you have will look as if you’ve gone farther away from your goals, or potentially even that you’re standing still. Then one day it will seem like magic that you’ve taken a giant leap forward. It’s not magic. It’s the slow, continuous, and constant work that moves you forward inch by inch until you arrive at one destination. Once you’re there take a second of gratitude for the work you did and then keep walking! A bad triple axel may not seem like a huge step to some, but for me in this moment it feels like Everest! ❤️ Thank you @パトリック・チャン for taking the time out of your practice to film me.
