My first audition which involved skipping class and getting to stand on the NY stage. My callback, which involved wrestling like a dog and dancing around like a color. Blisters and calluses and more blisters. Drumming in a Chicago blizzard. Landing in 85° Las Vegas weather still wearing a winter coat. Hiking through Redrock Canyon. Sleeping in till 3 PM then partying with a new group of people every night. Water volleyball tournaments at magicians’ homes. Playing Xbox in a room made entirely of a large couch. Driving cross country solo and riding a roller coaster as soon as I got out of the car. Late night jam sessions. Songs on Sunday. Giving my future wife a blue kiss. Our first dog. Our first house. Our second dog. Our wedding. Living on a cruise ship. Sunday lunches with my wife. Traveling in Europe with my wife. Biking around the Bahamas. Scooters in Honduras. A show refresh. Our first kid. The Walking Dead. Our second kid. Grad school. Book From Tape. And now, my last day. Proud moments, sad moments, frustrated moments, healing moments, damning moments, life. 14 years ago, Blue Man Group was my dream job. My college teachers asked me what my goals were after college and I said I was going to be a Blue Man. They tried to dissuade me from locking into just one idea but I was (and am) stubborn in my beliefs. 3 weeks after graduating, I was in training and the rest is a series of memories.
