My best friend tested positive for Corona and is intubated in the ICU right now. 30’s. Healthy. Fit. I won’t elaborate on this case out of privacy and those of you who are aware of this case-please be mindful. But it’s hit home in a big way. 30’s. Healthy. Fit. Let that sink in for a minute. This virus does not discriminate. It is not just attacking the elderly. It is attacking in different shapes and forms and we need to try to get ahead of it. In the US, there are currently not enough tests available for the general public. Many people are carrying the virus and have no idea. Just because you don’t have symptoms, it doesn’t mean you aren’t spreading the virus to people who are vulnerable. And in my case, to someone I never thought would be vulnerable. I am not just sharing these thoughts because it has become personal now. As crushing as the last few days have been personally- those close to me have have been following these guidelines for the sake of our loved ones since we understood the severity of this virus and yet it seems as though some people still are not taking it seriously. This is not a drill or a question. It’s not a debate I’m willing to have anymore. There is simply no other option. -STAY HOME -IF YOU HAVE TO LEAVE THE HOUSE YOU MUST PRACTICE SOCIAL DISTANCE. -TAKE/TOUCH ONLY WHAT YOU NEED AND STOP PANIC BUYING. -SANITIZE AND THEN SANITIZE SOME MORE AND WASH YOUR HANDS AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE -IF YOU HAVE ACCESS TO MEDICAL EQUIPMENT,MASKS,GOWNS Etc. DONATE TO YOUR LOCAL HOSPITALS NOW I am not trying to create more panic or fear. I am simply asking everyone to gain as much knowledge as possible and to do the right thing. If we come together and take the right steps forward we have the opportunity to save a lot of lives ❤️ Also- take the time to thank every medical professional you know. They are on the front lines risking their lives. Thank the people who are delivering your food and supplies and all of the people who are keeping our grocery stores, banks and pharmacies open.
