When doing anything from the most subtle partially hooded eye to a monolid I like to do the majority of the shadow with the eyes open so I can see exactly what I’m doing. Having hooded eyes you’d know the pain of doing some epic creation then opening the eyes and seeing it disappear in an instant (Once the shadow is done with the eyes open I’ll get the model to shut them and fill in the gaps) I find if I put a wash of matte colour where the eye needs a little ‘lift’ it can open the eyes up. How high up you take the colour determines the shape of eye you want to create. Here I wanted to keep the natural shape of the eye but in order to make it more round you would just take the shadow up higher around the centre area or the opposite for an exaggerated cat eye shape // @katya.lednevaa with hair by @kyye from a shoot for @sheikeandco #makeup #hoodedeyes
