It’s very much about reaching out to as many people as possible.” That’s not to say he doesn’t amass artefacts, or that those artefacts aren’t gathered in an almost collector-like way around very specific categories. “I don’t think I have collections, but, of course, I have archives. I think a curator has archives. And as a curator, I always buy books. I buy a book every day.” How many books do you have, exactly? “About 50,000,” he replies.
