Blink and you might miss it. ☄️
A comet visiting from the most distant parts of our solar system made its once-in-our-lifetimes close approach to the Sun on July 3, 2020. Comet C/2020 F3 NEOWISE will cross outside Earth's orbit on its way back to the outer parts of the solar system by mid-August.
This image was captured on July 5, 2020 from the International Space Station (@国際宇宙ステーション) as the station orbited above the Mediterranean Sea in between Tunisia and Italy.
