스튜디오 콘크리트가 7월 23일부터 9월 27일까지 유신애 작가 @mentears 의 초대전 <패트리코어>를 개최합니다. 유신애 작가는 스위스를 기반으로 영상 작업에 주력 활동하며 2016년 스위스 정부로부터 현대미술에 기여한 작가 3명에게만 수여되는 애슐리만 코티를 수상하기도 했습니다.

작가의 이번 전시에는 최근 Serpentine Gallery, Nowness 등의 국제 무대에서 선보인 프로젝트 <패트리코어/Petrichor>, <길트 트립/Guilt Trip> 이 소개됩니다. 이 작품들은 개인에게 작용하는 사회적 압력과 이에 대한 저항을 디지털 미디어, 언더그라운드 음악과 함께 풀어내며 나아가 도식적으로 상품화된 인간성과 모호한 도덕적 관념을 지목합니다. 이 과정에서 작가는 비판자가 아닌 중재자의 입장을 취하며 정제되지 않은 현시대의 웃픈 장면을 폭로하게 됩니다.

Studio Concrete is pleased to showcase Sinae Yoo’s solo exhibition . The exhibition is comprised of her two recent art projects and . In the past few years, using a wide array of media, the artist has explored themes of alienation and servitude under the yoke of capitalism. Taking her cues from the visual culture of advertising and video games, the artist conjures an aesthetic of seduction that grinds the souls it ensnares within its virtual net.
