Once the recording for 'Rust in Peace' was done by late Spring 1990, and before we set out on the promo tour for the album that summer, we went into a photo studio in Los Angeles to shoot the LP sleeve shots with photographer, Gene Kirkland. 

Gene would often visit us while on the RIP tour with Judas Priest in late 1990-91, and became a sort of go-to photographer for us during the Rust in Peace cycle.
