The second thing that I get asked when meeting a fellow Montanan - after “where are you from?” - is “What brought you here?”. And I’ll answer that my dad studied here in the 60’s, that I love the mountains here but really it’s the Wilderness that brought me here. True Wilderness. I can go for a walk and run into mountain goats, moose, bears, bighorn sheep, bald eagles, and that reality to me is mind blowing.
