I’m forever grateful for the women who have shown me true power and helped me recognize MY true power. From a very young age, my mom has always repeated a few things to my siblings and I. One I have always remembered and still continue to repeat to myself is: ‘Remember who you are, and where you come from.’⁣ ⁣ I always think about my ancestors and my roots, how they continue to bless me, protect me and thrive through me. I think about the strong bloodlines coursing through my veins, the animals and the lands that depend on us to take care of them, as they do us, and the future generations to come.⁣ ⁣ My goals are also to uplift BIPOC youth and educate those who don’t understand the struggles, challenges and the oppression we face. To shine a light on the issues that have been kept in the dark for so long.⁣ ⁣ Indigenous voices need to be elevated to the highest levels in all of these conversations.
