Coming back home is still bittersweet: I love seeing my family and childhood friends, but Missouri has some of the harshest laws against a woman's right to choose and laxest legislation on guns. Which is why, when I went on a walk in my old neighborhood last night, I was so proud to see these incredible signs of positive affirmations. My anxiety levels are through the roof, so I can't imagine what it'd be like to be a closeted gay teenager in the middle of this country right now.
