ニック・ナイトさんのインスタグラム写真 - (ニック・ナイトInstagram)「Taken nearly 30 years ago this picture is of one of the best and also one of the scariest fashion shows I ever went to . It was for Martin Margiela and was held in the stairwell leading down to the Paris Metro platforms. It was an absolute scrum of people at the Metro entrance and I ended up climbing over the railings and actually dropping down into the stairwell below to get in . Once in there was no way back out and we all filed down onto the stairs. The show started and we had to press ourselves against the wall so the models could get by . All down the middle of the stairwell were lit candles . If any one of the models had set fire to her floaty hair or floaty dress , then there would be no way of getting out in the panic which would have undoubtedly ensued. Coming close after the dreadful Kings Cross underground fire in London I didn’t feel too safe . However it was a Martin Margiela show and of course absolutely brilliant. Despite everything I would have hated to have missed it . This season the whole fashion world is having to rethink how to show itself. It’s the most interesting and the most important season ever . Fashion is moving on , the catwalk is no longer the way to show fashions finest offerings , it’s absolutely ecologically unfriendly, it’s seasonally redundant , pointlessly separated into two genders and doesn’t reflect these times of heightened desire for social justice . It is not time for huge display of ostentatious wealth. In short the fashion show is no longer fashionable. The Fashion show catwalk has been virtually unchanged for over 70 years and Fashion , the medium that by its own definition predicts your future desires , now needs to move on ! At Harrods in London SHOWstudio are doing a 3 week takeover to try and show the way forward for the Fashion world . SHOWstudio, Fashion’s Digital Future is live on the 5th floor and on SHOWstudio.com .」9月22日 7時28分 - nick_knight
