Whether he's hosting cultural nights at his store or raising money to fund microloans for coffee farmers in Guatemala, Carlos —who immigrated from El Salvador when he was a child—is determined to transform his store into a community resource hub. “One of the biggest things for me is to try and encompass all the different aspects of the community,” Carlos says. “From my upbringing, all the issues we had as a kid, it’s my way of paying it forward.
