8 OF 31 - Finding the people who inspire you is maybe the single most important thing when you’re working out your creative vision.
.
Not just the artists whose work you admire and emulate (because they’re important too) but the team you build around yourself.
.
The people that make you better at what you do.
.
The stylist who produces the perfect piece of jewelry that MAKES the picture.
.
The model whose every subtle gesture inspires.
.
The makeup artist who does something your weren’t expecting that spins you off in some exciting new direction.
.
The friends who are just as hungry and driven to make something happen as you are.
.
There was a group of us who met weekly for dinner at Bar Pitti. We were assistants and interns. Hustling to take advantage of every opportunity that came our way. To create our own version of an industry we were all so new to. I’d eat ramen for days in order to afford that Bar Pitti meal.
.
At those dinners it felt like anything was possible.
.
And the more we believed that - the more true it became.
.
BIG 🖤 to my Bar Pitti pals from those early days (you know who you are). All of us have gone on and done some amazing things. I like to think there was some magical something in that house table wine and rigatoni pitti.... Something that gave us power and strength.
.
But now I realize it wasn’t the food. It was the friends.
