I’ve been sitting with this poem “Heaven for a Black Girl” (after @harlemsownlyric) for a while and when @essence_gu asked me to honor Miss Breonna Taylor I knew what it needed. In my heaven she lives. So does Miss Bland and everyone else we’ve lost. For those of us still here- I encourage you to write a Haven for yourself. A special thank you to @mrlouisstudios for coming through in the 11th hour to capture this and my cousin @emon.hair for these fly ass Bantu knots.
