You HAVE to register with them. For some reason Berry Gordy kept @MotownRecords OUT of the RIAA until 1977. So basically we kinda gotta take their word for it that #IllBeThere sold 5.3 million singles & #IHeardItThroughTheGrapevine was Marvin’s biggest seller at 6 million units. Motown would give the press release and we took their word for it. That said: we also have no accounting for the numbers #StevieWonder was throwing up on the boards—-I believe #SITKOL did 12 million but the point is when you see @エルトン・ジョン enter the race it should be noted he was neck in neck w Stevie at the time. But post 1977 is when #Motown decided to enter the race which unfortunately won’t count his strong 1971-1976 showing Thanks @deoncole
