From the second that orange stain on our country took office, so many of us have felt in danger because of who we are. When you NOT ONCE denounce hate, but in fact fan the flames of hate and Intolerance AND you bring with you a Vice President who is extremely anti LGBTQ+ who believes in conversion therapy, how else were we supposed to feel? When on DAY ONE of your presidency you erase the LGBTQ+ section from the White House website and never acknowledge or celebrate us again, how are we supposed to feel? When you put people in cages, separate them from their children and put those children in cages too because of their nationality, how are we supposed to feel? When you publicly denounce a black basketball player for taking a knee calling them thugs, but NOT ONCE denounce the white supremacist assault rifle confederate flag trouncing maga wearing, mask refusing terrorist, but in fact praise them, how are we supposed to feel? When black people are being killed every day by the police for doing NOTHING and you never denounce it, how are we supposed to feel? When transgendered people are being murdered at an extraordinary high rate and you say nothing, how are we supposed to feel? When you are literally caught on tape talking about grabbing a woman by the pussy and making sexual assault the norm and acceptable, how are we supposed to feel? When you ignore a pandemic ravaging our country killing hundreds of thousands, how are we supposed to feel? When you NEVER speak with kindness or compassion, but instead with hate and aggression, how are we supposed to feel? There is no other answer but scared, unsafe, and in constant danger. Truly afraid. This moment in history now comes with a giant collective sigh, but it still comes with a lot of hurt. I am hurt and saddened seeing just how many people were willing to overlook all of this for their own blind self interest. Willing to overlook it for money. Willing to ignore reality for a false reality created on Facebook and YouTube. Willing to ignore the extreme suffering of others for conspiracy. (...Continued in comments)
