Photos by Muhammed Muheisen @mmuheisen / Since last week, I have been roaming the empty streets of Athens and some suburbs to document the current lockdown in Greece. On Thursday, November 5, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis announced a lockdown starting on Saturday, November 7, for three weeks, with the aim to contain the spread of the coronavirus. Few days after, a curfew from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. was imposed.
Seen in this carousel: empty Monastiraki Square; a closed retail shop; a man reading the newspaper; shuttered restaurants in the Plaka District; Margi above her closed souvenir shop in the Plaka District; an empty street downtown; and finally Syntagma Square.
