Photos by @paolowoods / Keith Jarrett, one of the world’s most acclaimed musicians, recently announced that due to health issues he may never preform live again. He's particularly famous for his improvisation abilities, and the Köln Concert—piano improvisations performed in Cologne, Germany—remains the best selling solo album in jazz history. Jarrett is famously camera shy, but I managed to photograph him at the piano in his studio, adjacent to his farmhouse in Oxford, New Jersey, for a 2016 National Geographic story on what makes a genius.
