Scharf’s cartoonish illustrations brought him into the spotlight around the same time as contemporaries like Keith Haring, Jean-Michel Basquiat and RAMMELLZEE, as ’80s street art began to venture into the realm of galleries, museums and happenings. The collaboration is indicative of Jones’ taste for artists that are in vogue in contemporary art scenes but also enjoy a youthful following.⁠
