So I thought I should share my side of story behind Sound&Fury project by @sturgillsimpson it’s gonna be a Long story but here I go. It all began back in July 25th 2017th. Sturgill and I was riding a bus to Narita airport where Stu’s wife was landing. As we rode through vivid green summer rice fields in suburbs of Tokyo, he spoke to me about his record that has been recorded prior to his show in Fujirock festival in Japan, where he and I has been partying weeks before his first gig in Japan. “Dude, next record is done and I want a film cohesive to the album. It could be live film or animated, but whatever it will be I would definitely would like to work with Japanese anime creators.” “Done bro, I am signed with the largest voice acting agency in Japan which worked with many animation projects. From that day we started to dig in to Japanese anime to decide who we wanted to work with. It was May of 2018 when Sturgill sent me two videos that he really liked, Batman Ninja and Animatrix. Batman Ninja was created by Kamikaze Douga and Animatrix was a project done by numerous anime creators. I asked my booking agent if they could help me get in touch with Kamikaze Douga. The answer was no because voice actors work with sound engineers, not with the animation studios. I was kinda fucked at this point because my booking agent was my only reliable resource. So I started making phone calls. I had several friends who was producing songs for anime.I was hoping that one of them would have a path to Kamikaze Douga or any animation studios. None of them did. They only worked with record company. I was stuck. But the only thing that I knew was not going to disappoint Stu. One day I stepped into the office that I shared with my friend, I noticed we had a new comer who I knew Takayasu Kuroda, well known producer. I asked him if he had experience making anime and he did. I told him about Sturgill and he asked me what kind of anime is he into. Animatrix and Batman Ninja I said. Producer of Animatrix works with me he said. I said holy shit.
