Today, we paid a courtesy visit to Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga @菅義偉 at the Prime Minister's Office.
Miss Universe Japan 2020 Aisha Tochigi @aishatochigi and I had the opportunity for an exclusive meeting to discuss a number of current topics. Some of the highlights below:
This year coronavirus has hampered all of our lives in ways we could never have imagined. For Miss Universe Japan and with the support of Parliamentary Vice-Minister Matsukawa, PIA Corporation, and many others we managed to move forward with our competition. Government support has been instrumental.
We discussed how Miss Universe Japan 2020 Top 5 winners symbolised modern Japan, in which each winner is biracial and has a unique and diverse background. We want to continue discovering young Japanese female leaders and share their achievements to the women of the world showcasing the new wave of change in a still male dominated society. We also wanted to convey the success story of having a company and competition run by women for women selected by women as an example of change.
Lastly we spoke about our thoughts on the importance of women leadership.

首相官邸にて 愛シャと一緒に菅義偉内閣総理大臣を表敬訪問させて頂きました。
対談では、
コロナ禍で今年の日本大会をどのように進めていいのか悩んでいた中、松川政務官、ぴあ株式会社をはじめ、沢山の方々からのご協力により、日本代表を決めることができたこと。
Top5が全員バイレイシャルな、ダイバーシティな現代の日本を象徴するような大会だったこと。
若い日本の女性リーダーを発掘し、今の日本の象徴として、世界へ女性の活躍を発信していきたいこと。
女性たちの声を、女性たちが選んだ女性リーダーを通して日本そして世界に届けていきたい
