It took pretty much everything being out of my control and my world being turned upside down for me to learn to let go a bit. It took having my country’s borders shut for me to learn that I can go for months (and months and months) without getting on an international flight. It took every café in the country to shut down for me to learn how to use the coffee machine I brought home from work for the lock-down.⠀ ⠀ I have much to be grateful for and I’m aware of this every day: the health and freedom of my family, friends, colleagues and community; the calm and competent leadership of my government; the sensible and community-focused attitude of my country-folk; the patience, creativity, skill, energy and commitment of my team; the support and love of my customers. Not a day goes by without me being grateful for all this and more.
