Bianca Cheah Chalmersさんのインスタグラム写真 - (Bianca Cheah ChalmersInstagram)「I used to think yoga was all about pretty poses (swipe to see all my standing splits, forearm stands and backbends). I started yoga when I was 34 and I quickly fell in love with the practice. I threw myself into the hardest classes, coming in almost six days per week. Sometimes, even twice per day. This lead to me completing my 200 hr Yoga Teacher certification. From then on, I became obsessed with getting down the perfect pose. I'd always compare myself to other incredible yogis on Instagram wanting to be better than them. But the constant comparing and pushing my body to its limits took its toll on my body to when eventually my wrist fractured. My wrist has never been the same and the pain has never gone away — a constant reminder to be kind to myself. But then I fell pregnant, and life suddenly changed — for the better. I took a good year off yoga choosing to prioritize my beautiful Oliver and motherhood. This January marks 17 months of reflecting what was. I may not be as flexible or as strong as I used to be, but I’ve finally realized that the pose was not the goal. Becoming flexible or being able to stand on my hands was not the goal either. Yoga is about the shape of my life and how I live it. Yoga doesn’t care who I was, it cares about the person I am becoming whilst still guiding me. I now have learned to come to my yoga mat to feel and appreciate my body, and not accomplish. Pausing and shifting focus was the best thing that could have ever happened to me, whilst gaining the experience of motherhood, and bringing that to my practice has been a different level of experience — in owning my strength 🥰🥰.」1月6日 5時45分 - biancamaycheah
