We celebrated Christmas a couple of weeks after the actual day cause I was severely depressed and in a lot of pain when I woke up on Christmas Day... I didn’t expect to feel that way. I didn’t want to feel that way. I feared that my stomach ulcers were back in full force. Sadness can cripple you when you least expect it. When you’re with the right person, they are patient with you. They let you process whatever you’ve been through at your pace. She pushes at the right time though... and loves me through it all. The holidays aren’t just about a specific day. We get that. We get each other and stand together. Pamela is my forever champ and best friend. Thankfully I came out of that holiday depression and we celebrated the way that felt right for us. Little presents, a big home cooked breakfast, that terribly awful Netflix sequel Switched Again with Vanessa Hudgens, and so many happy private moments... it was perfect. I’m thankful and hopeful. Allow yourself to grieve and then grow. Healing isn’t a race. You can be great for months and then BOOM. I miss my dad being around. I miss having peace in my head.
