It was the first time in my life where I was truly myself and told my real story. It was so difficult to be so vulnerable and honest about so many traumatic experiences I went through in my life. But I am so proud that I did. From me being honest and telling my story has caused such an important movement that needed to happen. Thousands of other survivors have said that me speaking out helped them process what happened to them, it opened up conversations with their loved ones about the experience they suffered, it validated their experience and they finally felt heard and respected. And these places and people who have been abusive to children are being called out and held accountable for their actions. Now I have a true mission in life to use my voice and my platform to help put an end to the abuse that myself and so many other children have had to endure. And I no longer feel alone and have a whole community and family of survivors who are some of the most brilliant, courageous, strong and resilient people I have ever met.
