Seeing Denise’s enthusiasm and commitment to her art got me thinking about my godmother, Donna, who was in the New York City Ballet way back when. With a little googling over my morning coffee I happened upon a photo of Donna being fitted for a glorious costume by the great Irene Sharaff (#irenesharaff, check her out), and all of the sudden I was completely star struck (I’d love to share but need permission). @denparungao reminds us in her stories that ballet is so much more than wearing a tutu, and that couldn’t be truer, but she definitely rocks those tutus as did Donna.
