Thank you so so much to those who saw the post earlier today about our random act of kindness & helped in some way. We are awaiting an update from Tiger’s dad and will update in stories as soon as we hear anything.
I just wanted to point out something amazing... none of us (especially because I loathe politics & talking about anything that could incite negativity or conflict) who helped in this situation knows where each other stands politically or on other divisive topics BUT, that didn’t matter. Because of our desire to help others we came together without question, without prejudice, completely unconditionally & changed someone’s life! Imagine if we spent more time focusing on our commonalities and accepting that our allies & friends may not have views or opinions that perfectly align with all of ours. I have seen friends in the rescue community lose other reacue friends over the political party they affiliate with or maybe they are on the same team but have a very different extremist view on some other non-political divisive topic. Maybe I’m just someone who has an easier time loving unconditionally and seeing past or accepting others who may have opposing views from me when otherwise they’re a good person, good friend. Or maybe some people have just let themselves get so caught up in sides that they lost sight of the big picture. Whatever it is, it’s been weighing heavy on my heart and this unexpected random act of 3 strangers and a cat community coming together to save someone’s pet showed me a different perspective that I feel compelled to share. Extremism brings conflict & division to humanity. Having a view or strong belief but accepting that we’re not all supposed to think the same or agree on everything, then practicing more unconditional friendships/love, brings unity & strength to humanity.
