For instance, Leonardo DiCaprio flying private! An arctic scientist staying in a tent made of Nylon which uses crude oil! A is celeb “lecturing” us on climate change when they own X amount of cars or have X square footage house! In this case, John Kerry, the newly appointed climate czar of the Biden administration using or having a private plane. (they never talk about how the plane belongs, since 2005, to the family foundation of his ridiculously rich wife’s HEINZ family. Yes, that Heinz of the ketchup empire! She’s worth like a billion dollars. Look it up.) Now don’t get me wrong. Hypocrisy is BAD. It sucks. Leo and John Kerry should be flying commercial. Celebs shouldn’t lecture on climate change unless they are making real efforts to reduce their carbon footprint. BUT this has NOTHING TO DO WITH THE SCIENCE OF CLIMATE CHANGE! It’s a pure smokescreen. “LOOK OVER HERE! WHAT A TWO-FACED IDIOT!!!” It’s very effective tactic from the anti-science, pro-oil/coal crowd because it draws ones outrage and disgust at a perceived hypocrisy. Leo and John can fly in all the private planes they want to and that’s too bad BUT it doesn’t change the fact that the US emits well over FIVE BILLION TONS of CO2 into the atmosphere every year, that CO2 has been proven to create a heat trapping blanket and the spike in CO2 and its corresponding temperature rise over the last 200 years is unarguable. We need to get that CO2 down for our children and grandchildren and, unfortunately it’s going to require some regulation, some tough teamwork and some sacrifice.」2月2日 23時01分
