I wrote “broad day” in the midst of the george Floyd incident. Seeing as to how a lot of the looting and rioting was happening just a few blocks down from where I Create my music everyday I felt compelled to speak on things from my perspective. Another special thing about this song is the fact that on the beat switch I sampled my first musical inspiration ever the r&b group TROOP which my uncle Rodney B was/ is apart of. Also to have my song “broad day” come on directly after the nip x jay z joint (two of my favorite people/ artists ever) and them to both have a tag on my record is unreal. Sometimes things just align and you know there’s a higher power.
