There are no smoke and mirrors in this routine. I’m not pushing @faye_brookes around the ice or guiding her through the steps. Faye is actually leading me for a lot of the routine. Anyone who has learned to skate will appreciate the difficulty of the steps that Faye is performing. She opens the routine with a solo skate. The transitions, leaps, and lifts that we do are the types of moves that I’d perform with a pro on the show. At the end of this routine, Faye does a death spiral which is an advanced move. It’s incredibly impressive that Faye was able to do this when she only started figure skating a few months ago. As is usual on Dancing On Ice, Faye only had 10 hours of ice time to learn this routine (and learn how to do a death spiral) before performing it live on the show. Faye, you’re a superstar.
