I've known Christiane for nearly 35 years. We were introduced through family when I was at ABC NEWS. She has since become my family. We've shared countless talks on every subject from Bosnia to boys and more. We've been through births, deaths, and divorces. She is an incredible friend, confident, journalist and woman.

She was diagnosed with Ovarian cancer this past Spring and, as is her way, faced it with intelligence and bravery. She is one of the lucky ones who caught it early and had successful surgery. But over 13,000 females die each year from this cancer which, if caught early, is highly curable.

Please listen to Christiane's message and talk to your girlfriends about it. Women get all to accostomed to aches and pains every month since puberty and easily can dismiss it as more of the same. Be diligent.
