Sharing my work process on ‘Abuela‘s Plea’ sequence from #ENCANTO . This is how this moment evolved into what you saw on the big screen. When I first blocked #Abuela and #Mirabel out I had nailed Mirabel’s acting down but had dialed Abuela’s ‘Plea’ aspect way too high that made her moving too much for the moment. The directors felt like the praying gesture felt too big and begging which wasn’t exactly what they had in mind. In between the shots you can see some of the director notes I received that helped me evolve her acting into the final form. So here is my journey to finding her character in this moment 🥚-🐥-🐓

#엔칸토 에서 ‘아부엘라의 간청’ 장면의 작업 과정입니다. 이 장면이 어떤 연기의 과정을 거쳐서 여러분들이 보신 장면으로 진화하게 되었는지 보세요. 처음에 저는 #아부엘라 와 #미라벨 을 작업하면서 아부엘라의 ‘간청’ 요소에 너무 힘을 많이 줘버렸습니다. 미라벨의 연기는 장확히 파악했지만 아부엘라의 연기는 너무 간절히 기도하는 느낌에, 빌고 있는 느낌이 난다는 감독님들의 노트를 받아서 좀 더 부드럽고 눈으로만 간절히 기도하는 연기로 발전시켰습니다. 장면들 사이에 작업 당시 감독님들 노트들도 공유 했으니 재밌게 보세요. 애니메이션에서는 이렇게 캐릭터를 가지고 장면에 딱 맞는 연기를 표현하는 작업을 합니다. 🙂
