About to take off on my flight to Beijing and I’m taking a moment to reflect on my previous Olympic experiences. This video was my second and final run at my first Olympic Games in Sochi in 2014. I fell on the last jump of my first run and had to dig deep to put it down under pressure. Landing the switch triple on the bottom jump was truly the most euphoric feeling I’ve ever experienced. I was instantly overcome by a culmination of joy, relief, excitement and pride. The silver medal that I won that day has shaped my life in more ways than I could have ever imagined. It helped give me a platform and emboldened me to come out and speak my truth. When I look back at my career, getting to compete as an out athlete and getting to be an advocate for the LGBTQ community has meant more to me than any medal or accolade ever could. I feel forever grateful for this moment, this sport and this life - excited for Beijing 2022!!!
