The thousands of pyramids adorning its dial, the facets of its bracelet, the chamfers of its bezel and the alternation of satin-finished and polished surfaces all contribute to making it shine. In 1978, the Royal Oak received its first diamonds. A true technical challenge since the bezel couldn’t be gemset like any other watch, mainly because of its thinness, but also to safeguard the waterproofness of the watch.
