Hear about the life of iconic artist Faith Ringgold in her own words in the de Young Museum’s latest film “Faith Ringgold: American Story” 🎥

For fifty years, Ringgold has drawn from both personal autobiography and collective histories to document her life and amplify the struggles for social justice and equity. This film, which we are excited to debut exclusively with Juxtapoz Magazine, follows her journey from growing up in Harlem to becoming one of the most influential cultural figures of her generation. Director LeRon Lee stated, "[Faith Ringgold] is not only a woman that I've studied, I genuinely admired her work. As a storyteller today, this film is a full circle moment and I am absolutely honored to tell this story." Her work is on view now through November 27th at the de Young Museum in the exhibition “Faith Ringgold: American People."
